What Can I Expect During Treatments?
We perform ICON skin revitalization as an in-office treatment at the Eye Clinic & Aesthetics of Provo. During your initial consultation, we create a custom treatment plan just for you. In the course of the photofacial procedure, you may receive treatment with the 1540 fractional laser, IPL, or both. This will depend on the skin concerns you are looking to address.
Using the handpieces, we will make a few passes on your skin to induce collagen and elastin production. After the session is over, you can expect some minor redness or swelling. The redness and swelling should fade eventually, and aside from needing to protect yourself from the sun, you can return to your normal activities.

The MaxG handpiece uses intense pulsed light (IPL) technology to minimize spider veins, vascular lesions, age spots, hyperpigmentation, and redness. The 1540 fractional laser stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping to firm up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, surgical scars, acne scars, and stretch marks.
The procedure is minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime. At the Eye Clinic & Aesthetics of Provo, we customize all of your sessions based on your concerns and goals.
IPL photofacials are effective in permanently eliminating hyperpigmentation such as blemishes, age spots, and liver spots. However, it is important to note that this treatment does not prevent the formation of new blemishes. Continued sun exposure may lead to the development of new discolored spots on the skin. To ensure optimal results, it is advised to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when spending extended time in the sun to protect the skin from further damage.
Although patients usually notice visible improvements after one treatment, a series of 3-6 treatments is typically recommended to achieve optimal results. This is especially true if you are looking to improve the tone, texture, and appearance of your skin. Five treatments may be needed to treat stretch marks.
Immediately after the procedure, you may notice a darkening of the treated skin. This is normal, and the outer layers of your skin will soon exfoliate to reveal younger-looking, smoother skin. As your skin produces new elastin and collagen, you may notice a gradual reduction in fine lines. Over several months, you may notice firmer skin.
